A special welcome!

Postby Alex Clouter » Sat Jan 19, 2002 00:54

:D A special welcome to SCORE members to our all new members section of the website. As you can see, it's a totally new look with lots of functionality and, we hope, more interesting for you to enjoy and learn from. You, as members, are in total control as to how this will develop over time and benefit from.

I see you've figured out how to use the smilies Alex

I've got a load more ready to add into the system once everyone becomes familiar with it.

Still trying to get my head around how to use this new message board? It is a little confusing compared to the last one, but i suppose it`s a case of familiararity! It seems a lot funkier than the last one!!

Congrats and thanks to those who have made this happen. My comment on the "old" message board was just wondering if we would effectively lose out if non-members cannot post messages? Just a thought. Oh, and I think there's a slip in the headings on the Workshop Manual? Maintenance and Lube comes up as Heater & Ventilation. But hey, great site!

I had a feeling I might have got one of them wrong as I was doing a dozen different things at the same time. I knew someone would spot it though :) . I'll take a look and fix it later today

I think things will become clearer as more posts are made and you can see how things are arranged more easily.

One thing that might help is to get used to the new terminology and hierarchy eg at the top there are Categories eg Cappuccino, SCORE. Each Category has a number of Forums eg Test, Brakes. Each forum can have any number of Topics as decided by you when you post a new one, and each Topic can have any number of replies.

Yeah it's been busy for a while behind the scenes.

Actually SCORE has had that domain name for a while but it's on a different host. That was the only way of setting up a new system without distrubing the other one. As far as everyone is concerned score.org.uk will remain the main doamain name to use. There are a few others that are used for one reason or another but no need to worry, just remember score.org.uk

Don't mean to be picky but for what it's worth you might want to fix the graphics on www.suzuki-cappuccino.com/ as they don't work. Or maybe just redirect it straight to the main site instead.

Yes you're being picky :D

That domain is just a holding place for the new message board at the moment and nothing is linking directly to the root. A quick dummy page was what was needed at the time and as such it sufficed. It's on my list of things to do but the new message board is my priority at the moment.

Hi Thomas,

although nothing is directly liked to that domain it's now redirecting to the main SCORE site at www.score.org.uk
