LH Side Window Winder

I'm replacing the electric window winder on the left/passenger side because mine is definitely getting very slow and tired and is showing its age!

The parts book gave the part number as 83402-80F00; but it's no longer available from Suzuki.

But when I tried to look it up on the net for a pre-owned one, there was a second part number: 83430-80F00 - and it's for a similar looking part!

So what's the difference? Has the old/original part number been superseded?

If you compare the EA11R to the EA21R Parts Manuals, they use the same part nos. but in one case the motor is shown separate to the elevating mechanism, and in the other it is combined. I suspect a confusion has arisen, and to correct it, the separate motor was renumbered to 83430-80F00.

EDIT: I have just looked up 83430-80F00 on Amayama and Impex, and they do not recognise the number, so it may be an error. 83402 is available from both, but at over 500 USD, it would be worth seeing if the motor can be opened and reconditioned. The motor may need the brushes dressed or replaced. Otoh, it may only need the rack and pinion cleaned and lubricated, so try that first.

I will stick with the parts book number I know (83402-80F00) just to be safe! I guess that would be the most appropriate and sensible action to take.

I believe the window motor from the Ignis has been used as a replacement in the past. You need to swap the connector over since it differs but the Ignis part was only £16 in 2020 so is worth investigating your options. No idea if this was a new or second hand part. I believe it is the one for the same side you need. I don't know if all Igis used the same one or, if it changed, which one would be appropriate.

Alternatively the motor from the opposite side of a Suzuki Swift MK 2 (88 - 94 model) has been used by others.

I assume that's the old Ignis (2000–2006), not the current one?

Hi. I just got some further info regarding part number 83430-80F00 which I was given 24 hours earlier.

This part number is not listed by Denso or Suzuki; so I was wondering where (or who!) came up with it in the first place! I've now made a note of it.

BTW, I'm also looking for a weatherstrip partition for the nearside quarter glass, Part # 84618-80F00. Does anyone know where I can find a pre-owned one? This part is no longer available new from Suzuki.
